Overlooking the charming piazza Sant'Anastasia, the 13th century
Hotel due Torri is the oldest and finest hotel in Verona. Goethe
and Mozart both slept here and would feel just at home today.
Ideally situated within a few minutes walk of the Roman Arena,
it is the perfect place for a long weekend at the opera (contact
us for dates and performances).
The bedrooms are all a good size and individually decorated
(some have frescoed ceilings) with antique furniture and fresh
flowers. The bathrooms all have bathtubs, and despite the products
being unimaginative, the towels are large and fluffy and the
beds are turned down every evening.
The rooms on the fourth and
fifth floor overlooking the piazza are infinitely better than
those overlooking the 1960s internal courtyard. Service is
old fashioned and during our last visit the manager produced
30 umbrellas
from nowhere when a sudden downpour threatened to ruin an unforgettable
night at La Traviata.
