(Citta
della Pieve) - Oratorio di Santa
Maria dei Bianchi -
the best of several Peruginos still remaining
in his home town hangs in this little Oratorio. |

|
|
(Lake
Trasimeno) - Isola Maggiore -
with no cars allowed, and only fishermen for
company, you can still imagine how St Francis
must have been inspired by this haven of peace
on his visit in 1211.
Required Time: Half a day |

Norcia -
this little town, standing in a bowl high up in the Apennines,
has a very interesting history. St Benedict, the founder
of western monasticism, was born here. |
 |
|
Piano
Grande - this wide, open plateau
stands almost at the peak of the Apennines. It
gives a feeling of enormous space, with just a
few distant signs of humanity.
Required Time: A short day |
