Once the site of the Emperor Domitian's Stadium, this delightful
square was transformed by Pope Innocent X in the mid 17th century.
It centres on Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, a marvellous
tour de force, and his bitter rival Borromini's façade of Sant'
Agnese, with its dramatic raised dome and twin towers.
