Grand Hotel de la Minerve

The Grand Hotel de la Minerve is all about location. Stroll out the front door and you are a Centurions foot step away from the Pantheon in the enchanting Piazza della Minerva named after Bernini’s statue of a little elephant weighed down by a vast obelisk known as ‘Pulcin della Minerva.’ Having recently undergone a fabulously expensive restoration, the Minerve still offers surprisingly reasonable room prices for such a luxurious five star experience in the very heart of the city.

The décor in this 17th century palazzo, is traditional Italian grandeur. On arrival, guests are welcomed into a vast lobby surrounded by sky lights, stained glass windows and 19th century statues. However the bedrooms are fresh and sleek with a slightly contemporary edge which attracts business as well as holiday clientele. Our favourite rooms are on the top floor, try and get one of the rooms with a terrace that shares the same glorious views as the restaurant roof terrace which has one of the most unbeatable views of the city. Enjoying dinner on this terrace as the sun sets over the dome of the Pantheon on a summers evening is as romantic as it can get.

Everyone loves the service here, the same staff have been at the Minerve for years and their charm and eagerness to help is a refreshing change to some of the more costly establishments in the city. The hotel has a gym, however being in such an enviable location means that you can walk very easily to nearly all the main sights of the city.

The Minerve is the perfect choice if you want to be in the heart of the city in a well run five star hotel that is a fraction of the cost of other less charming, five star hotels nearby. Our clients return year after year and always look forward to the same warm welcome.
