Co-ordinating with people for annual holidays is a nightmare but nearly everyone
but the most scheduling-challenged can get away for a short break. Emily
FitzRoy of Bellini Travel, Italy specialists who have clientele in the US
and UK, says that, instead of huge champagne and caviar parties for 50th
birthdays, the cosmocenti are opting instead to take 10 or 12 close friends
to Venice, say, for a memorable weekend.
"Imagine going in the dark to St. Mark's and having the custodian
turn on the lights for you to view the mosaics," says FitzRoy.
To add icing to the cake, Bellini follow such exclusive access
- to certain rooms at the Sistine Chapel for example - with dinners
at a private palazzo...
