Sant'Angelo a Nilo

Set in the very heart of Spaccanapoli opposite a charming antique statue of a river god personifying the Nile, hence the name of the church. Sant'Angelo a Nilo is a little gem off Piazza San Domenico, containing one of the earliest Renaissance tombs in Italy. The tomb of Cardinal Brancacci, designed by Michelozzo and sculpted by Donatello in 1427, with its classical details, points the way forward.
