In
a lovely Renaissance building designed by Sangallo the Elder
to match Brunelleschi's famous foundling hospital opposite, this
small hotel skillfully blends old with new, and allows the architecture
to speak for itself.
The Loggiato Dei Serviti is a small family
run hotel located in one of Florence’s most charming squares.
The hotel was built at the beginning of the sixteenth century
to give hospitality to visiting prelates. Sensitively restored
and modernised in 1986, it retains its original charm with antiques
and ceramics and individually decorated bedrooms. Our only concern
is that the piazza has a tendency to attract down and outs in
the evening so watch your handbags.
Public space is limited. There is a small bar
and breakfast room (which looks onto the garden of the Accademia);
but the peace
of the square and the spacious rooms looking onto it provide
plenty of opportunity for relaxation.
