JK Place has been transformed from an elegant Florentine
palazzo into a 20 room home-from-home hotel by the
renowned architect Michele Bonan. It overlooks the dilapidated
but beautiful (and soon to be smartened up) piazza
of
Santa Maria Novella.
The hotel is centred around a
small internal courtyard hung with Moroccan lanterns
in which
you can take your breakfast (if you manage to get
out of you super comfortable bed!). The feeling of serious
comfort is underlined by the real fire, flickering
candles and cashmere throws in the cosy sitting room,
where
you
can help yourself to complimentary drinks and home-made
cakes. In warmer months the roof terrace overlooking
the Duomo provides the perfect spot for an early
evening drink.
All the bedrooms are individually designed. Personal
touches include complimentary mini-bar, plasma screens
and DVDs
in all rooms (plus a DVD library at your disposal).
Although this hotel is fashionable and so very stylish,
the mood is calm, relaxing and luxurious. The staff at
JK Place are amongst the most charming in Italy
and go out of their way to help. We cannot recommend
it more highly.
